In the fight for Democracy, we will need weapons of mass Connection

Creative concept for the Polis Project email journey, 2022

“Dear NAME,

In the fight for democracy, we will need weapons of mass connection.

In these troubling times, meaningful exchange with our peers from around the globe is more important than ever—especially for political professionals. Yet the sheer volume of different channels available can make it hard to focus on the connections that really matter. The ones that are indispensable to the work we do to strengthen our communities and our democracies.

That’s why the Innovation in Politics Institute has launched a new programme: POLIS.

With POLIS, we are creating a next-level network, a haven for political professionals that will change the way you (net)work, connect and exchange know-how. We are currently ramping up a community, enabling people like you to be part of this exciting journey.

My colleague B.C. (in cc) is taking care of the POLIS Community. If you – NAME – want to be one of the drivers of change, please click here, and Marie will be in contact asap.

Thank you very much for your time, and have a successful day,

Best Regards

A.B

Falling in love should be instant, like Polaroid

Concept, opywriting, video production, and asset design for Polaroids.ro X POLAROID ORIGINALS (formerly Impossible Project, 2016)

Falling in love should be instant, like Polaroid.

We love the dusty type that gently saturates fractured hills and makes fields all golden, the magic that breeds from light-shaded expired solvents, and the strong, cinematic texture of life caught on super speedy black and white.

There’s no such emotion in digital and anyone who had the chance to revert to analog knows how printed memory will always survive hard disks, damaged phones, and USB sticks that fail to connect any longer.

Dedicated to instant film lovers across the globe and focused on the work of Romanian instant film photographers, www.polaroids.ro speaks volumes of the magic, inspiration, and storytelling this type of photography entails. This project is a work of love and a tribute to influential artists like Andy Warhol, Andrei Tarkovsky and Helmut Newton.

Instant film photographs last in mint condition for nearly 100 years. They are the legacy of a prosperous world of artists that never ceases to reinvent itself through vanguard technologies and innovative film types.

The Political Power of Disability

Interview with Constantin Grosch, Innovation In Politics Institute, 2021

Constantin Grosch understands that disability has political power. “Everyone is disabled once in their life. You always will have times in life when you encounter barriers and depend on others,” he shared during his webinar with our ACT NOW Mayors’ Network, aptly titled “Inclusion as a Driver of Innovation”.

From a very young age, Grosch made the active choice to work on breaking down the barriers that hinder people with disabilities. But in his late twenties, more on the background of the Covid-19 crisis, he found himself at a critical point to help normalize political decision-making that relieves the social, economic, and healthcare pressures disabled people live with. He was involved in the recent legal reform (Bundesteilhabegesetz) of the rights of disabled people as a critic, advocate, and advisor in the legislative process and founded AbilityWatch e.V., one of Germany’s most influential platforms for constructive disability rights activism. His work factors into the crucial changes that need to happen so that inclusion issues move forward from mere talk into actionable measures.

In this interview, Grosch opens up about the need for representation of people with disabilities in political bodies, the best ways to foster education and lower prejudice on what disability actually means, and collaborative behavior across communities to enable political measures that enhance inclusion.

#NarrateYourself

Concept, copywriting, and asset design for Thought Catalog publishing company, 2016

With a focus on cultural diversity, emotion, and vulnerability, Thought Catalog Europe publishes the powerful stories behind people and things we all like, love, get inspired by, and get frightened at, that blow our minds or change our lives. It’s an index of multiculturalism focused on the big events that shake our world and the way the collective meets the personal.

“The internet has dissolved the barriers of publishing and the difficulties of having one’s voice heard by audiences. It’s an enormous gift. What we have today is literature being born straight off social media. There’s a great difference between wanting to say something and wanting to make yourself heard, thus I wish you all to speak as many things as you have to say in this life. You are all authentic, brave and important. Not because I said so, but because you said so.”

Thought Catalog Europe is a regional brand of Thought Catalog launched in October 2016. You can follow the page here.

We take writing submissions on hot topics in your country and video submissions for our weekly #NarrateYourself column.

Qonto Germany – Product Review

UX writing for Qonto Germany, 2021

How much does a Qonto account cost in Germany?

You can choose between three paid plans with Qonto, based on your budget and necessities: Qonto Solo (€9/month), Qonto Standard (€29/month), Qonto Premium (€99/month)

How long does it take to open a Qonto account in Germany?

Qonto’s application process can be completed in about 10 minutes. Once your registration is validated, you can be approved for a current account within 24 hours.

How can I reach Qonto’s customer support?

Customer support is available Monday to Friday during working hours (9:00-19:00), via phone (+49-800-724-1762) or e-mail.  Queries are normally answered within a quarter of an hour during opening hours.

How secure is Qonto?

Qonto holds a payment institution license. It isn’t, technically, a bank, but is supervised by the same authority as the major French banks – the ACPR, which makes it subject to regular controls and compliance checks. In addition, website and app access, transactions included, are protected by a mandatory two-factor authorization process and a 3D-Secure system, which are stable anti-fraud protection systems.

We went on TikTok to show that political work is accessible to everyone. Here’s our journey:

LinkedIn Newsletter, “Democracy is Under Attack”, concept, copywriting and reporting, Innovation in Politics Institute, 2022

Politics is becoming more polarised, society more fractured and the climate crisis more urgent. We are taking action to create a more democratic, inclusive, and sustainable future that puts citizens and their needs first. At the heart of that effort remains innovation. We turned to TikTok to showcase it.

We wanted to create a format that is accessible, relatable, and inclusive, and that inspires people to shift from consuming entertainment content to co-creating it. And we chose Brian Sock, the lead character of our Socks Talk Politics Youtube series (who has also become a beloved team member in this process) to voice those major concerns people have around democracy and enact narratives we’ve developed or scouted over the years that bring solutions to those issues.

Embody Through Storytelling

Concept, copywriting, script, video production, Embody Through Storytelling, 2018

Embody Through Storytelling is my platform for teaching creative writing. The masterclass has empowered over 200 individuals and teams to create impactful narratives through writing.

“If you want to write, don’t go all the way.

Go out of your way instead.

Go back to square one:

Your inner voice.

You can regain your inner narrative and share your ideas with the world.

You can translate your language into powerful, persuasive and emotionally cohesive stories.

You can sell any idea through writing (and speech), using emotion, empathy, and connection

You can connect with your audience authentically and keep that connection strong.

Words have the power to change the world forever

Whether you’re a writer, a musician, a teacher, a marketing professional, or a research scientist

You are still

An artist, deep inside.

Be this world’s poetry in motion.

Don’t quit your story.

Tell your story.

Embody Through Storytelling.
